In my own words...
I have spent the last few months in Berlin focusing on personal systems of identity through observation and self-reflection while exploring the range of movement qualities, energetic initiations, and redirections. Through curiously observing my mental landscape and physical movement, my awareness continues to shift in making personal decisions and expand my movement expression. This work supports my investment in movement practices as a workspace for introspection, dissolving internal narratives ingrained from social constructs, and connecting to others in meaning and complexity. I aim in sharing such practices in the contexts of movement, conversations, and education for the restructuring of stigmas around mental health, detachment from our bodies, and discriminatory aesthetics. I hope to continue my internal investigations and physical expressions within the context of a community to support the understanding dance movement has to offer in our personal lives and interpersonal connections.
